I wanted to come here for drinks and food but unfortunately I came just 5 minutes too late as the kitchen closed. I still decided to get a drink since I was already here. I got a Paloma and it was the best I’ve ever had. The ingredients were extremely fresh and perfectly balanced. The interior of the restaurant is also beautiful. I can’t wait to come back and try the food.
If you’re in Lancaster and frequent the downtown area, you’ve gotta know about Double C. I had the urge for a burger and ordered the 50/50 burger (beef and lamb). I was a bit surprised to find the additional items such as tomatoes, picked and sauces cost extra. Despite that, the burgers were cooked to perfection. 👌🏽The noise level was a bit high but bearable. The evening was topped off with an amazing dessert 🍨. It is my strong recommendation to give Double C’s a try when your up for a delicious meal and good vibes. 😎
Americanized South American food. Recommend the fried green tomatoes... that was the best part of the dinner for sure. Decent selection of foods and drinks but nothing to go crazy over. The price is decent for what you get for sure. I was a bit disappointed when my rock shrimp and striped bass ceviche only had striped bass in it since I got it because the rock shrimp sounded good. Nothing to offend the senses and very mild food, no garlic or onions. Also the tortilla chips are wheat tortillas, heavily seasoned, not the corn tortilla chips I'm used to. But everyone has their own preferences. Good service 👍 I liked the fries and fried green tomatoes.
The food was tasty, the atmosphere felt elevated and bustling, the server was very friendly and quick to help us. We always enjoy our visits here.
The reason for my review tonight and a less than five-star review was because we were left feeling slightly off put. We came to celebrate our sisters birthday. The server noticed since we had a gift bag at the table. He asked if we were celebrating something and upon finding out it was her birthday he offered a free dessert. My sister has both a gluten and nut allergy (she loves double c because they have some great gluten free food options). She told him because of her allergies she wouldn’t be able to enjoy the complimentary dessert. The server then offered a margarita to her as an alternative. She happily accepted. The owner brought the drink out to her a few minutes later. After my sister had a sip or two of the drink the server returned to check on us and only then told her that since the desserts are $8 and the margaritas are $13 they would have to charge her the $5 difference for the drink. Neither the server, who offered the margarita as an alternative to the complimentary dessert, nor the owner who brought the drink to our table, mentioned the price difference prior to her consuming the drink. The three of us found this a bit off putting.
Overall the experience was good, but the extra charge for the drink that they offered to her left us feeling a little sour after spending nearly $200 at their establishment.
Great atmosphere and service! They have a really great Tequila/Mezcal cocktail list with knowledgeable staff. I enjoyed the Oaxaca Old Fashioned, coupled with some chips and queso.
We have heard many great things about Double C and I can see why. The margaritas are dangerous but in a good way. I could have had many more of the them. Our server was so knowledgeable and his recommendations were spot on. The pork tenderloin with corn and tomato relish along with pepperjack mac n cheese was phenomenal. My girlfriend's rice and bean bowl was delicious. The mousse for dessert was amazing. We will definitely be coming back and you definitely should check them out. Absolutely amazing.
The burger and seviche was spot on. Our group was all impressed. Friendly and attentive service. It is a smaller place and fills up quickly, so at times it does get a bit loud. Other than that I highly recommend. Will be visiting again.
Great atmosphere with exceptional food and drink options. The burgers were perfectly cooked and the pickled jalapeno peppers with chipotle mayo were a great addition. All toppings do cost extra, so be prepared to spend $20+ on your burger. Sweet potato fries with chipotle mayo was a winner for the side. My wife got the pulled pork bowl over mac and cheese which was even better than my meal. One small note for your experience is I would not recommend sitting at the high top tables. The seats were awkward and not very comfortable for a longer sitting experience. Overall a great atmosphere with good flavors and service.
